I hear they have some good parties there...

A lot of other people have begun broadcasting their intentions regarding FanFest 2009, so I might as well, too.

I've missed the last two FanFests since I started playing, due mainly to being a student. The kind of courses I'm taking are the sort where it's incredibly difficult to catch up if you miss one day. BUT with any luck, I'll have a job by that time this year and will be able to grab a few days' holiday. My bf and I have already discussed the possibility of making it a week in Iceland to walk around and take pictures -- I'm pretty certain I could cajole him into attending FF, too, since he's a former player.

Looking forward to it!

Ooh fanfest, that would be awsome.

I dont have so much luck with my better half tho..
She is no gamer, so I imagine I would have a hard time convincing her to go!

I smell a guide request! cant someone write up:
"how to make your gf start playing eve!"
:P

lol Yargok... I hear that question sooooo often! Sadly, you can't make a geek of someone who has neither the interest nor inclination :(

Me and the wife went to the last two fanfests (she plays too) The first one we went to we only went for the weekend and were so impressed with Iceland that last year we went for a whole week. I can heartily recommend it. The people are wonderfully warm and friendly (and most speak english, though its worth the look on their faces to learn a little Icelandic XD). The bars and restaurants in Reykjavik are all very good (You should have the fish, any fish, anywhere, its wondeful) and I can totally reccomend The Blue Lagoon for an outdoor swimming experience like no other.

We EVE bloggers should totally think about getting some badges or something made up so we're easily identifiable to each other at the fest. I spent the best part of two days looking for CrazyKinux last year, we kept missing each other.

I really, REALLY want to see if I can go this year... But I'm a little concerned about the cost.

I really would like to go but its hard to justify going to two distant video game expos within just a few months (already going to PAX in Sept). Maybe next year.

If I can find a way to pay for a week and a half in Norway with my spouse this August AND Fanfest, I will be there. I guess I'd better start working overtime, or sell some things on eBay. . .

I really want to go.

Not sure if I will be able to afford it after DragonCon.

I'm hoping to go. It really depends on the job situation and whether I can make the decision to go before all the flights/rooms are sold out.

Planning on going as well, was also thinking of making it a whole week. Any tips from those who have done this before about how to get a good deal on flight and hotel?

*sigh* I wish I could go, but btwn classes and work, it's not looking good...that and I'm not sure if there will be enough room leftover for the rest of the attendees btwn the egos of Molle and Mittens *glomps Shae*

I am one click away from going, just need to get some intel on the transfers from the airport, and I'm done \o/

I'll be going solo, so I hope to make some quick friends :D

/emote is glomped \o/ awww, but we still wuvs you, Shina!

Well, everyone knows what I look like, I think (the dreadlocks make it easy) so it should be relatively easy to spot me in the crowd.

... Well, maybe not, considering how damn short I am! >_<

Shae can ride horsey-back on me. Since I'm nearly 2 meters tall, it will be easy for everyone to spot her that way. =)
