I find I have a dilemma when it comes to role-playing.
No, not that kind of role-playing. Jesu.
I don't often RP with Shae; I do more with my second main, and then I'm really only RPing by pretending to be a different sort of Eve-player. The last time I brought Shae into an interactive RP situation was when I was in Atrocitas and we were at war with Stimulus; I ended up in one of their less-private RP 'pub' channels after spending the hours preceeding the war chatting with them in Local. Being a newbie RPer (and a newbie in Eve, as well) facing the experienced who are -- for lack of a better description -- your enemies, and having to set yourself up so that you don't offend them in-character, is NOT an easy experience. That being said, the guys I met from that corp were fantasic people and went easy on poor li'l me.
Over the year since then, I've come to know Shae Tiann much better as an ingame character, which has made writing blog posts from her perspective increasingly easy. Hence the dilemma: when someone posts an in-character blog post, I feel any response I might make really ought to be in-character as well. I feel kind of bad about spoiling the atmosphere, even if the writer has indicated they don't mind. However, I'm aware this could cause confusion among the non-RP community.
What to do?!
Well, with the number of in-character posts I've written, I've decided, what the hell, why not? If someone writes an IC post I feel compelled to respond to, I'll write it IC, too. And you can probably expect more IC posts appearing here in the future.

\o/ I never thought RP was all that appealing but as Mynxee's persona becomes more defined, it has become quite enjoyable to write in-character. Of course, certain someone's have much to do with that.
jorge's posts are slightly RP simply because its easier to write them that way, I do have an RP character though which I still need to build on, there are a few little tweaks in his history i want to do.
@Mynx - I used to RP *properly* when I played ShadowRun back in high school. I kind of miss that level of character work.
I've never had any real problems RPing with Kal (and I have, having been in both Veto and CVA (and I do have IC reasonings for having been in both :P)) although perhaps that's because his character is based fairly closely off my own (if a little more opportunistic), the easy way out maybe, but it's worked for me.
@Jorge - tweak away! It's your character, after all, and you can do whatever you want with it. TBH, I don't know Jorge all that well as a character, so I wouldn't notice any changes if you made them, anyway ^_^
@Kal - It's always easier to embellish what we're already familiar with than the concoct something entirely different (which can and does lead to the 'Extreme Amarr' roleplayers *shudders*); it's the same key which applies to writing, lying and designing things: Keep It Simple, Stupid.
I'm always up to RP in-game or on-blog.I really enjoy the character I've created and interacting with others through him.
I didn't intend to RP in Eve. Did it too long too many other places (*cough*MUSH*cough*) that, frankly, I was burned out on it. This resulted in a quite a few Caldari toons that I nuked after a month because I was bored with them, and then Vieve -- who was pulled into a RP conversation her first week.
It's been downhill ever since.
Shae, you got the guys in Stimulus to roleplay? Fantastic! They don't do it enough, in my opinion. :>
RP is more fun :)
@Vieve - Yeah, it was a bizarre sort of RP conflict that saw my (very much non-RP) alliance at the time being hired into the war by Cyrene and being decced in return ^_^ I still chat with Sakura on occasion, but it was Nemesor who was keen to attempt to seduce(!) and recruit me IC.
@Ombey - It is quite a lot of fun :D I find it a bit stressful at times, however, since I'm not accustomed to RP for several hours on end and am really only passingly familiar with the Eve background.
